Just a human trying to make the most of my human experience. Constantly craving challenge, growth and new perspectives.
A quick recap of my life thus far:
Realizing a long-time dream of living abroad with Ben and Miso. Documenting as much as I can, while learning the language and seeking growth.
Bought our first home through FaceTime. Fell in love with rock climbing, crocheting and making genuine connections.
Led front-end design, development, and maintenance of Single-Cell Hub, a web application enabling scientists to explore gene expression data for drug discovery and safety analysis.
After countless page refreshes and e-mails at our local shelter, we finally adopted our special girl.
During COVID, decided to start freelancing full-time as a web developer, designer and instructor, with clients across the country and even Singapore (thank you Amanda).
Joined as a Business Technology Analyst working on Salesforce and program management projects. Soon after, joined the Front-End Engineering team in Toronto (thank you Tim), where I learned a lot about coding best practices and client delivery. Oh yeah, also met my life partner Ben during this time ❤️
Spontaneously decided to go on an exchange in Singapore, because of a late-night bus ride conversation with my friend Andy. This experience defined a lot of who I am today, and it opened my eyes to the world of travel and new perspectives. Confidence and feelings of 'purpose' were boosted.
In my 'try-hard' era, got involved with a bunch of student clubs and extracurriculars, became a Teaching Assistant for a business communications course most students dreaded and networked my ass off to land my dream job (at the time). Gained a lot of confidence, pretty proud of my 'uni era'.
Dealt with lots of complex emotions moving to a new city halfway through high school. Barely passed my level 10 RCM piano exam. Decided to pursue a degree in Accounting.
Made lots of core childhood memories. Went to a strict private French school where I learned a lot about discpicline. Mom signed me up for swimming, skating, drawing, dancing, piano lessons (thank you Mom) and learning Mandarin through Saturday school.
